Carl Weiland hopes his videos will bring excitement to some and passion to others. As the producer of the Creighton Bluejays’ Gametime video he hopes to instill the former, and as the producer of The Cristo Rey Network‘s promotional video he hopes to instill the latter.

Both of these undertakings have come with his newest venture, Silverline Productions Co., a nonprofit video production company he started under the care of Fr. James Keiter, a Cathoic priest who is the president of two schools in South Omaha. This venture began last summer and is benefiting Assumption-Guadalupe Catholic Elementary School by providing an additional revenue stream for tuition assistance.

A native of Madison, NE, Carl moved to Omaha in the fall of 2002 to attend Creighton University. With his entrepreneurial spirit in hand, which he credits to his father’s career as a farmer and door manufacturer, he started a dorm room loft business within his first month.

Currently, his production studio is at 36th & Q, on St. Peter Claver High School‘s campus, a local Cristo Rey school. In the coming year, he’ll be moving into a larger studio as well as launching Silverline’s website.

Check out my interview with Carl in his current studio and make sure to watch some of his work (links below) – the basketball videos are best with the volume cranked up.
