At last month’s Cornstalks, Ben Schaechter gave us both a demo of his newly-launched polling web app, GoPollGo, as well as a bit of its history. He begins with a humorous anecdote of why he was compelled to learn programing at a young age and he ends by showing off a number of cool features he’s programmed into GoPollGo.

It’s important to note, this presentation was given prior to GoPollGo’s public beta launch last Friday, and one of the strategies Ben mentions is no longer valid. In an email to me, he wrote that in the presentation he said they’ll begin charging for what they are currently offering as free features. “That is no longer the case since we changed strategy,” he explained. “I would like to emphasize that everything that is on the site right now is and will always remain free.”

Also, I’d like note again that SPN and GoPollGo shared the same roof this summer — SPN in BrightMix’s basement and GoPollGo upstairs with the BrightMix team. I’m genuinely excited for GoPollGo (I’ve already made 22 polls) but I think it’s right to make you aware that BrightMix management, Dusty Davidson and Kevin Zink, play a role in both SPN and GoPollGo.

After you’ve checked out the video, and you’re thinking you’d like to see more of Ben and GoPollGo, I recommend you attend tonight’s Midland’s Venture Forum’s Networking Dinner. The feature presentation of the event will be a panel discussing bootstrapping, but prior to the panel, Ben will be presenting GoPollGo and Jimmy Winter will be presenting RockDex.

Here’s Ben’s Cornstalks presentation from August 27th:
