Here’s another one — it comes by way of a coworker of Jeff’s at AIM (I’m quickly learning they have their ear to the ground on tech and innovation conferences happening in Omaha). From EPSCoR.UNL.edu:

The Nebraska Research and Innovation Conference brings business leaders, policy makers, and researchers together to hear distinguished speakers, learn about the latest technologies and exchange ideas while exploring potential collaborations.

Join us for the 5th annual conference at the Omaha Qwest Center on September 29. The conference begins with morning plenary sessions featuring distinguished speakers dedicated to bringing research and innovation to the forefront. Throughout the afternoon, researchers* will present exciting new developments in science and business in a mini-track format. A student research poster presentation and a reception will conclude the day.

Featured speakers will include: Dr. Elaine R. Mardis, Associate Professor in Genetics and Molecular Microbiology and Co-director of The Genome Center at Washington University and Washington University School of Medicine; Dr. Bradley A. Ozenberger, Program Director for The Cancer Genome Atlas and for Technology Development at the National Human Genome Research Institute and the National Institutes of Health; Dr. Gail Naughton, Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board, Histogen, Inc., San Diego, Calif.; and Dr. Roger L. Geiger, Distinguished Professor of Education and Senior Scientist in the Center for the Study of Higher Education at Penn State University.

There is no cost to attend. The deadline to register to attend the conference and to register a display or poster has been extended to Friday, September 25. A block of rooms is available at the Omaha Hilton Hotel adjacent to the Qwest Center. The deadline for making room reservations and receiving the special conference room rate has been extended to Friday, September 18.
