On countless occasions Silicon Prairie News has showcased many of the “diamond in the rough” agencies, creatives, firms, and startups right here in our own backyard. The story of Electric Pulp in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is no different.

I recently had the opportunity sit down and chat with Aaron Mentele, one of the three partners of Electric Pulp along with Stefan Hartwig and Michael Lemkuhl. EP, as they call themselves, is a service-provider that designs and develops high-quality websites, or as their website reads, “we build websites that make you smile. get to know us.”

EP has certainly made many people smile with their work over the past 12 years. Their portfolio is filled with exciting names including Stephen Colbert, Guy Kawasaki, Ford Fiesta, and InCase Design. What really amazed me is the fact that EP doesn’t do outbound marketing or sales. Instead, they are completely dedicated to their craft and only put out work that they are proud of, and in turn let their work speak for itself. As an entrepreneur myself, I think this is an important lesson to always do your best and you will be rewarded for that.

Aaron and I chatted at the EP headquarters and discussed everything from social media and the future of websites to the origin of the Electric Pulp name. Take a look.
