1. What is the name, subject and URL of your blog?

ChristyNelson.net, crafting, christynelson.net

2. Why do you blog?

I started blogging as a way to keep track of my knitting projects. Now I blog professionally and I do it because I love it. Sharing information and making connections with others independent of where they live is a powerful thing and I’m proud to be a part of it.

3. How long have you been blogging and what software do you use?

I’ve been blogging since 2004. I still have that blog and update it regularly but I use it more for friend and family updates on my life. If you don’t care about potty training stories or my crazy antics, you won’t care about that blog. I still use Blogger for that one. I started ChristyNelson.net in 2008 as a way to keep my craft persona separate from all the potty training and it was the best thing I’ve done for my business. I use WordPress as my blogging platform and love it.

4. What’s your favorite blog?

I have so many! I usually have a lot waiting for me in my Google Reader every day so I thought I’d share the ones I always go to first. They aren’t the best designed but they showcase what makes a blog truly great: the content.

5. What do you think the state of the blogosphere is in our region?

It is growing leaps and bounds and with the help of great “in real life” events (like AwesomeCamp, and BarCamp), we can become more aware of all the great local talent occupying the blogosphere.
