Silicon Prairie News – Summer Intern (Omaha)

Silicon Prairie News interviews the region’s leading entrepreneurs and creatives, reports on startups and established companies and announces events.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute blog content (reports, interviews, updates, etc.) on the region’s entrepreneurs and creatives
  • Create partnerships with national media outlets and blogs
  • Promote blog posts and events
  • Copy edit website and event materials
  • Dabble in ad and sponsorship sales

Qualifications

  • We’re looking for a great writer with an excitement to cover the region’s up-and-coming entrepreneurs and creatives. We have lots of work to do and we have fun doing it. (Bonus points for having an interest or background in the tech industry.)

Compensation

  • We’ll be offering a stipend, occasional free lunches, and an always-stocked beverage fridge, but we think the real value lies in building your online portfolio while connecting with some of the most talented individuals in our region. You’ll also have an important role in reporting on Big Omaha, our premier annual event each May.

Grand Consulting – Full-time Systems Administrator (Des Moines)

Full-time Systems Administrator needed for growing, fun, flexible company. If you know what an Active Directory is, we need to talk.

Grand Consulting Group, the leading Managed Services Provider for Iowa dental practices, is hiring a Systems Engineer that is great with people, TCP/IP networking, and Windows machines. Customer service is a huge priority for us and we need an individual that enjoys interacting with people as much as they do computers.

This is a highly self-directed position. You’ll be responsible for taking initiative with projects and learning what you don’t know. You also need to be comfortable managing your own schedule.

infoGroup – Sr. Product Manager of Social Media (Omaha)

Infogroup is a global provider of business information, customer insight and marketing solutions for businesses large and small.

This position is responsible for supporting, enhancing, and growing Infogroup’s social media solutions as well as developing new product ideas for the company. This position will interface with all aspects of the organization including sales and support, content management, engineering, and marketing.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain and enhance expertise related to all areas of assigned products and lead large, visible projects.
  • Prepare and deliver product updates, sales and support briefings, and maintain online product and content documentation.
  • Act as primary subject matter expert for Sales, Clients, and Professional Services relative to ownership areas while developing secondary subject matter experts throughout Infogroup.
  • Track customer feedback and competitor knowledge relative to ownership area and maintains superior awareness of customer feedback and competitor knowledge of products and content.
  • Generate ideas for new products or enhancements to existing products, both directly and through ideas submitted from other internal and external sources.
  • Identify new/emerging trends, competitors, and/or vendors that the company should be monitoring and/or responding to, documenting specific findings and recommendations.
  • Exhibit innovation and flexibility with regard to process improvements that will increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the project lifecycle.
