Attendees at the Big Omaha 2009 opening party enjoyed the wine tasting that took place with Gary Vaynerchuk’s Wine Library TV taping. Last year, the opening party was closed to attendees. This year, it’s open to the public. Photo by Malone & Company.
Attending or not attending Big Omaha 2010, we hope you’ll join us for either our Thursday or Friday night party. In addition, the Social Media Club of Omaha is hosting a Tweetup prior to Thursday’s opening party, bringing the total to three open to the public events this year.
Here’s the run down with links to the places to RSVP (although it’s not required for admittance). I’ve also put together some miscellaneous details that will assist those making the trip to Big Omaha.

Miscellaneous Details:
Weather: The weather can be unpredictable in May (remember, it is the Midwest). It’s typically sunny and in the high 60s to low 70s with an average low of 45. Don’t rule out rain, but definitely rule out snow.
Dress: Casual – I’ll be wearing jeans, who’s with me?
Parking at KANEKO: We recommend the lot at 11th & Jackson, one block northeast of KANEKO.
Downtown Meters: It’ll cost you to park in metered spots on Friday but not Saturday. Rates vary.
Public Transit: Omaha’s public transportation is limited to a bus system, you can plan a trip at trip-planner.metroareatransit.com.
Cab: Try Happy at (402) 339-8294 or Safeway at (402) 342-7474.
Where to eat: Look for a restaurant list in this year’s event program, which you’ll receive Friday morning.
