We’re excited to announce that all Silicon Prairie News videos going forward will be viewable on the iPad and iPhone. Up to this point, we’ve been hosting our videos with Viddler, and the Flash player it provided made it impossible for iPad and iPhone users to view videos of our interviews, reports and events.

On the recommendation of our good friends at Malone & Company, Mixergy and others, we have switched to hosting our videos with Wistia.

The benefits for us were immediate: the video player has a cleaner look, videos are higher quality and automatically available in HTML5, which is what enables them to be viewed on the iPhone and iPad!

Additionally, we get some great insights into how exactly our videos are being watched. Wistia provides heatmaps showing engagement, which in the long-term will help us craft our interviews and videos so they’re more interesting and engaging.

This is the first of many technical changes to come on Silicon Prairie News in the coming months. We hope that all you iPhone and iPad users enjoy the new level of accessibility, and as always, thanks for tuning in to Silicon Prairie News!

Here’s the video from the photo above, if you’re currently browsing on your iPhone or iPad I encourage you to give the new player a try.
