As of late, we’ve published quite a few posts on Proxibid (see: siliconprairienews.com/tags/proxibid), and today we have an item of news from the Omaha-based company. Proxibid, the world’s largest real auction marketplace, had its most successful September to-date and a record-breaking third quarter.

Here are a few bullet points that break down Proxibid’s growth, from today’s press release:

  • Proxibid has doubled in size every 12-18 months since its inception in 2002
  • Year-over-year September results include a 69 percent increase in online sales, a 27 percent increase in the number of auctions and a 64 percent increase in the number of new bidders to the site
  • Overall, year over year third quarter results included a 21 percent increase in the number of auctions, 28 percent increase in total bidders, 21 percent increase in lots sold online and a 14.5 percent increase in total lots sold – indicating a steady growth of interest in online auctions and Proxibid’s leading platform

Today’s press release also provided a few remarks from Proxibid president Ryan Downs, a couple to note were:

  • “Proxibid continues to see exponential growth, and we don’t expect to slow down.”
  • “[O]ur results demonstrate our position as the industry leader and should instill confidence in any auction company already online, or considering going online, that Proxibid is the standard when it comes to online auctions.”
