Hudl, the Lincoln-based sports-software startup founded in 2006, recently announced two new additions to its board of directors: Jim McClurg (left, photo from nebraska.edu), as director and chairman, and Jim Mora Jr. (right, photo from wikipedia.org) as director. These additions are quite notable as McClurg has been involved with the company since its early days and Mora brings experience as a head college football and NFL coach.

With these two additions, Hudl’s board now totals seven (including two of Hudl’s co-founders):

  • Jim McClurg – Chairman – President, Technical Development Resources Company
  • Steve Brown – CEO, Snaptic, Inc.
  • Charlie Calhoun – CEO, Jacob North Companies
  • Adam Gouttierre – Product Manager, Microsoft
  • David Graff – CEO, Hudl
  • Jim Mora, Jr. – Analyst, NFL Network
  • John Wirtz – COO, Hudl

In Hudl’s press release, McClug provided these quotes:

At the end of our first full year of Hudl sales, we are on plan for revenue and profit, and well-positioned for considerable sales growth and continued profitability.

We have a ready market, a market-leading product, and top-notch customer support and product innovation teams. These, coupled with national sales coverage, have put us in a position to dominate.

Our very engaged board of directors and advisors bring high-impact expertise to Hudl. I am excited to join the Hudl board as chairman, and we are all excited to be a part of the Hudl team.

Additional, Mora provided these quotes:

I am very pleased to be aboard. I have been close with [CEO] David Graff and the company for years, and I’m really excited about the direction Hudl is headed.

In my 26 years coaching in the NFL, I’ve seen video progress all the way from 8mm film. Hudl is the most innovative. It’s astounding how far ahead of the game it is.
