Another solid week of events is upon us on the Silicon Prairie, kicking off on Tuesday afternoon with a free seminar from the folks behind BitMethod (postponed – see below).* No events in Kansas City this week, at least not on our radar, but events happening in Des Moines and Cedar Falls.

BitMethod wants to engage business leaders in some straight talk about the mobile landscape. We’ll cover stuff like where the real value is in mobile, how you’re probably doing mobile already and don’t even realize it, and why you don’t even need to build your own app.
We’ll be hanging out upstairs in the pool hall. We’ve got a pool table and some seating reserved and will be handing out drink tickets for delicious craft beers as long as we can afford to.
No agenda, just conversation. We’ll already be in town for our Straight Talk About Mobile presentation earlier in the day at What Cheer. We wanted to be social and say hello to some of the folks we follow on Twitter and otherwise know from Omaha but don’t often have the chance to hang out with.
Come out to this FREE pre-event mixer for a chance to get to know SXSW Interactive registrants in your area and people interested in the intersection of technology and culture.
The Town Hall will happen from 6pm – 7pm, and is your opportunity to ask SXSW staffers any questions you might have about the event. The party begins at 7pm.
We are pleased to announce that Ignite SD #4 is set for the evening of Wednesday, Feb. 2 in Yankton above Ben’s Brewing Company.
To add to the excitement, and in celebration of Global Ignite Week, there will be an Ignite SD event on Wednesday, Feb. 9 in Sioux Falls at the Museum of Visual Materials.

Join us for the Technology Association of Iowa’s TechBrew event, an informal gathering of entrepreneurs, technologists, business people and funders getting together to talk over a beer (social lubrication). Cocktails and networking will begin promptly at 5 pm!
Kick off the morning with the Central Iowa Bloggers (#CIB) meetup at Panera on University in West Des Moines. CIB is an informal gathering of people interested in blogging typically held on the first Friday of the month. There is no set agenda for this meetup but bloggers begin to arrive around 7:30 a.m. and many stay through the morning.
Inflection’s CEO and Co-Founder, Matthew Monahan, will share his thoughts around the changing world of entrepreneurship in conjunction with his passion towards bringing together the worlds of technology, marketing and design to build something new.
Update January 31, 12:55 p.m. – With impending inclement weather, BitMethod has moved their Omaha events back one week.
