This month’s edition of Cornstalks, a group hosted by the Omaha Chamber for pre-seed and seed entrepreneurs in high growth businesses, will be taking place at a new location and time. As a lead up to Friday’s Nebraska Summit on Entrepreneurship, Cornstalks will be held in conjunction with an opening night cocktail hour bringing together young professionals of Omaha and Lincoln.

For the specific details, here’s a note from Cornstalks organizer Tom Chapman, director of innovation and entrepreneurship for the Chamber:

As a means to welcome our fellow entrepreneurs from around the state, the Omaha Young Professionals Organization and the Lincoln Young Professionals Group are proud to host a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres session at the Bistro at the Courtyard by Marriott (12560 Westport Parkway, La Vista) on Thursday, February 24th at 5:30 p.m. Please RSVP at omahachamber.org.

In addition, Cornstalks will go remote on Thursday to be near the Summit action. At 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 24th at the La Vista Conference Center, Mark Vipond of Lodo Software (left, photo courtesy of Lodo) and Dwight Hanson of Treetop Ventures will discuss entrepreneurship, their venture and how a company named for a region of Denver came to be located in Omaha. For those of you who do not know, Treetop Ventures is perhaps the leading managed angel firm in Nebraska and has been an active fund raiser for numerous companies, particularly in the payment systems space.

All are welcome to both free events. The YP welcome starts at 5:30 and Cornstalks starts at 7:30. The two venues are in the same building and within about 100 yards of each other – so feel free to make it an evening.
