When preparing for this year’s Silicon Prairie Party Presented by Hollrback, we knew three things had to come into play for success: cool venue with an open bar, ridiculous freebies on the table and a packed house of awesome South by Southwest Interactive attendees.

For number one, we went with a proven venue and staff – the same as our party last year – and choose Lanai Rooftop Lounge. For number two, we put in an order of more than 100 shutter shades, bright-colored sunglasses and slap bracelets. And for number three, we spread the word online and offline, and luckily, we had a fantastic turnout of attendees, which we’re estimating broke 400 people throughout the night.

The party started at 9 p.m. and it wrapped up soon after midnight. DJ Bonehead provided music for a great vibe, and our title sponsor Hollrback gave attendees an interactive experience with six gigantic Hollrback Cards placed in the middle of the bar.

Another ingredient for a unforgettable party that we’re now factoring into the equation: a top-notch photographer. Thanks to the connection of one of sponsors, Premier Studios, we were honored to have Kansas City-based Janae Weinbrenner of Imijfoto shoot photos for us. All photos in this post are from her.

Also, thanks again to our long list of party sponsors. It was really good to see such a strong representation from our region, and very awesome to have many of them at the party last night.

Here’s a selection of the pictures from Janae. To see them all, visit imijfoto.zenfolio.com/silicon.
