It may have been the burgers, Lucky Bucket beers and baskets of truffle fries that drew a crowd, but more than 40 people came together Wednesday at blanc burgers + bottles to connect with the happenings of the region at the second Silicon Prairie News Meetup.

With one official meetup under our belt, this SPN Meetup couldn’t have come at a better time. With much to talk about, there were discussions on just about any recent activity going on in the entrepreneurial community, from new startups and products to the Startup Lessons Learned Conference and TechCrunch Disrupt (both held this week with a few regional folks taking part), and even the recent approval of the Angel Investment Tax-Credit Act and the Business Innovation Act.

And there may have been a few mentions of a little something that happened two weeks ago: Big Omaha

Whether or not the attendees at Wednesday’s meetup experienced Big Omaha, the conference became a catalyst to conversation throughout the night. From rehashing memorable photo booth moments, reflecting on our speakers’ inspirational talks and discussing what’s next for the Prairie, the SPN Meetup created the meeting ground to act on the forward-thinking momentum of Big Omaha.

Our thanks to blanc burgers + bottles for playing host and providing SPN specials. And a special thank you to the many who joined us. Stay tuned for information on future SPN Meetups.

If you have any suggestions or feedback on how we can improve the next SPN Meetup, please leave a comment below. We’d love to see these meetups continue to improve. Also, if you missed the SPN Meetup last night or missed one of the Silicon Prairie News team members you were hoping to speak with, feel free to reach out to the team at info@siliconprairienews.com.
