It’s no longer the “Greatest Show On Dirt,” but the NCAA Men’s College World Series will make “History Happen Here” when the opening ceremonies kick off tonight.

With this being the inaugural year at TD Ameritrade Park, the CWS will be a new experience – perhaps maybe even a new ballgame – for players, coaches and fans as they learn the lay of the land and the surrounding parking lots.

BECOME A SPONSOR

Though we’re no ESPN, we here at SPN have taken notice to a continually increased web presence of the annual summer event in Omaha that continues to grow in numbers and exposure each year.

Here’s our run around the bases of websites and one app that have its eye on the ball:

CWS Parking

DownsDesign and Image Made

Parking may be a madhouse but at least you can be in the know for where to go. DownsDesign and Image Made have created an easy to use site with a pretty straightforward name, cwsparking.com, that helps fans navigate through North downtown to find the best parking available.

CWS History

Data Omaha of the Omaha-World-Herald

College baseball aficionados know their stats, so the Omaha World-Herald has brought this site together compiling data dating back to 1947 of all the champions and teams who’ve made it to the tournament. Make sure to comb through the College World Series historical database before George W. throws the first pitch on Saturday.

Rosenblatt Auction

Facilitated by Proxibid

By June 23 at 9 a.m. CDT, the first TD Ameritrade Park CWS series will be halfway over but, the folks at Omaha-based Proxibid are teaming up with the Omaha Zoo Foundation and Auction Solutions to remind fans of the historic Rosenblatt Stadium one last time. Live online bidding on benches and signs to any memorabilia players and fans interacted with during the tournament’s stint at the ‘Blatt will be available for fans to own and treasure forever.

QRivit

New mobile website, QRivit.com, an Omaha-based mobile marketing company, will launch during the CWS and you’ll be surprised where QRivit codes turn up and what each one will reveal. Keep an eye out for QRivit when you’re standing in line for some peanuts and Cracker Jacks because they’re likely to be found around food and beverage stands as well as hotels throughout Omaha.

This site, crafted and maintained by Bozell, an Omaha-based integrated marketing agency, serves as the go-to resource for tournament news and NCAA coverage. Get a handle on everything from the bracket to tickets and stadium rules, and perhaps most importantly: the current weather at the park.
