Real auction marketplace Proxibid today unveiled its new online bidding application, Bidder App 5.0. With Bidder App 5.0’s larger, streamlined interface, Omaha-based Proxibid aims to simplify the process of bidding online. Bidder App 5.0 features several noteworthy upgrades and new capabilities. Among them:

  • The bid button (below, screenshot courtesy of Proxibid) is larger and includes the item price and multiplier if necessary. Bidders will know exactly how much they are bidding with every bid.
  • Bidders will always know the status of their current bid. Any messages pertaining to the bid process will appear right in the bid panel.
  • A new group lotting feature will allow Bidders to pre-select lots ahead of time. This will change the bid price, even while bidding, ensuring bidders always know their current bid.
  • The lot selector will be a “pop-up.” If bidders are awarded the group, the only action they will be able to make will be to select lots.
  • All “pop-up” messages will be cc’d in the message center to ensure bidders never miss a message.
  • Improved navigation in the catalog and lot detail views provides faster access to important information.

“The improved user experience in Bidder App 5.0 further illustrates our commitment to providing the most sophisticated online bidding application in the industry,” Proxibid president Ryan Downs said in a release. “New features, including the updated message center, larger bid button and real-time bid status offer a heightened level of transparency you won’t find with any other provider.”

Bidder App 5.0 offers the ability to return to “watch only,” which means bidders can log out of the active bidding application and return to the watch only feature. Bidders can also log in to the application from the watch only feature. This feature is designed to add an extra level of security while making it easy to log back in at any time to place a bid.

Additionally, a new “my lots” tab allows bidders to track important information such as lots won, a list lots on which pre-bids have been placed before and during the auction and a cumulative list of pre-bids and lots won during the auction.
