AEA Integration – Visual Basic User Interface Developer (Omaha)

AEA Integration is a wholly owned subsidiary of Schnackel Engineers, Inc existing to innovate in the design and implementation of software to compliment computer aided drafting technology. 

AEA Integration is looking for a full-time or part-time Visual Basic expert to perform exciting new development work as part of our growing software team. The ideal candidate will have been considered the UI expert at former positions and has a talent for coming up with innovative interfaces. Client-side desktop Visual Basic 6.0 Forms experience is required.

The work will consist of designing and maintaining dozens of data-driven forms which interface with a SQL database and configuration files. In addition to the forms, responsibilities will include creating VB modules to implement substantial business logic to support the forms. Another critical job function will involve gathering requirements from end users. As part of the software team, your forms will be a highly visible part of the underlying software system.

Required skills:

  • Minimum four years Visual Basic experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • SQL experience
  • Clean programming style
  • 2D Geometry
  • VB.NET, .NET or Win32 API knowledge
  • CAD, 3D modeling, GIS, or other spatial modeling work
  • Experience with C++ or C#

AEA Integration – C++ Algorithmic Developer (Omaha)

AEA Integration is a wholly owned subsidiary of Schnackel Engineers, Inc existing to innovate in the design and implementation of software to compliment computer aided drafting technology. 

AEA Integration is looking for full-time and part-time C++ experts to perform exciting new development work as part of our growing software/algorithms team. This work is primarily in C++, but may lead to future work in C#.

The ideal candidate will have a history of solving scientific or technical challenges while delivering working software to customers. Much of our codebase involves performing floating point math and manipulating data structures. The candidate will be expected to design efficient algorithms and later implement those same algorithms in C++.

Required skills:

  • Expert-level programming skills in C++
  • Object Oriented Analysis and Design
  • Strong understanding of computer science principles (data structures, algorithms,
  • complexity, threading, operating systems)
  • Solid math skills including a background in linear algebra.
  • Clean programming style and efficient physical structure of programs

Desired skills:

  • C++ STL, .NET or Win32 API knowledge
  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Computational Geometry
  • CAD, 3D modeling, GIS, or other spatial modeling work
  • Experience with source control, bug tracking, and continuous integration

Princess Lasertron – Intern (Omaha)

I am looking for three people to help out for a period of one month each– July, August, and September. Responsibilities include…

  • Making kits for the Creative Connection Event and for the Princess Lasertron store
  • Some light stitching on bouquet orders
  • Packaging promotional materials
  • Keeping CAMP clean, taking out trash, general tidying

The World Company – Digital Editor (Lawrence, Kansas)

The World Company a multi-media organization.

The World Company is looking for a Digital Editor to facilitate the use of social media applications and methods to support and increase user engagement. Editor will:

  • On a daily basis, look at a story and, in collaboration with other editors and reporters, provide ideas for how that story can best be approached on digital platforms, to include online, on mobile and via social media,
  • Respond to and monitor breaking news.
  • Build and manage respective communities on LJWorld.com and related sites, including monitoring and moderating comments.
