Bart Dillashaw, a veteran startup lawyer who spent years plying his trade in Silicon Valley, will share his insights Thursday night at Omaha’s monthly meeting of entrepreneurial minds, Cornstalks. Networking starts at 6:30 p.m. with snacks and beverages provided, and Dillashaw’s presentation begins at 7:30 at the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce‘s downtown office (1301 Harney).

Here’s a look at Dillashaw’s background and what brought him to his current position with Lincoln’s Scudder Law Firm:
Prior to joining Scudder Law Firm in 2010, Dillashaw worked as an associate for Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati in Palo Alto, Calif.

Dillashaw’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and venture financing transactions.
Dillashaw also advises his clients on corporate governance matters, including fiduciary duties, disclosure obligations and board structure. His securities experience includes representing issuers and underwriters in initial and follow-on public offering transactions. He also assists public clients in the preparation and filing of Exchange Act reports, including annual and current reports and proxy statements.
Dillashaw’s merger and acquisition experience includes the following:
- Representing international technology company in numerous strategic acquisitions ranging in size from $10 million to $400 million
- Representing private semiconductor company in $90 million purchase of assets from a publicly traded British company
- Representing public technology company in $275 million cash and stock acquisition of a private company
- Representing numerous buyers and sellers in private cash and stock merger transactions.
In addition, Dillashaw has extensive experience in representing venture backed companies in financing transactions from initial funding to late stage financings.
He received his J.D., with honors, in 2002 from the University of Texas College of Law. In 1997, Dillashaw received his B.A. in Sociology from the University of Texas.
