At 6 p.m. tonight, the second Cornstalks Demo Night will kick off with a networking reception, followed by six product demos at 7 and then a post-networking reception at 9 to close out the evening. While Cornstalks, a monthly gather hosted by the Omaha Chamber for individuals interested in high-growth entrepreneurship, regularly meets at the Chamber’s downtown building, tonight’s event will take place at Creighton University‘s Harper Center.

According to tonight’s event program, “Demonstration night is intended to provide Silicon Prairie region companies with an opportunity to highlight their products and technologies.” These six companies, listed below, will each get 10 minutes to display a product or technology that is new or young (less than 18 months old).

“The goal of the evening is to illustrate the many wonderful things going on in the Silicon Prairie,” the program states.

Participating Startups

All of the companies are displaying products or technologies that are new or young (less than 18 months old).

SkyVu Pictures, presented by Ben Vu

SkyVu Pictures is a new media company with expertise in animation and the construction of character based mobile games, including Battle Bears. The company was founded in 2007 and has offices in the US, Singapore and Vietnam. The company is preparing to launch a number of new titles in 2011 and 2012.

The MeNetwork, presented by Craig Page

The MeNetwork is a marketing company that specializes in providing retail and point of sale businesses with a mobile marketing solution. The company’s proprietary text based system provides coupons and deals directly to mobile devices. The company was founded in 2009 in Denver but has a significant local presence, including co-owner Craig Page.

WasteFinder, presented by Evelyn Bartlett

WasteFinder is an app system developed by SectorNow to help companies go green, improve their waste practices and save money. Developed in conjunction with WasteCap Nebraska, the app calculates how much waste is being generated and recycled. Users can document waste management problems and submit them to WasteCap for review and recommendations.

TrackJumper, presented by Damon Cali

Trackjumper is a bug tracking software designed for smaller shops and freelance coders. The software was created by Damon Cali as a means for helping himself and similarly positioned technologists do more efficient bug searches, repairs and analysis. Trackjumper is based in Omaha and is currently exploring development opportunities.

Green Bein’ Productions, presented by Collin Caneva

Green Bein’ Productions is a media company that specializes in developing online games. The have developed mobile, virtual world, and social games, including Synch-it, tonight’s demonstration game. The company was formed in 2008 and developed Synch-it in 2011.

Social Assurance, presented by Matt Secoske

Social Assurance is a company that allows enterprises to collect and analyze mobile communications, including tweets, to ensure that employees stay on message and use company resources wisely. The company was developed in 2011.
