Thanks to Event1 Video for producing Newsmakers.
We’re unveiling a new feature today called Newsmakers, a video series and podcast taking you behind the headlines with the individuals making news in the Silicon Prairie.
Our first newsmaker is Ben Milne, co-founder and CEO of Dwolla, an online cash transfer company based in Des Moines. Just a little more than two years to the day, Milne sat down with me for what was his first interview about an idea that grew out of his frustration with credit card fees. Today, we’re on the eve of a very big day for the startup as it plans to announce a major product release at its meetup on Thursday.
In this episode of Newsmakers, Milne reflects on the things he’s seen the past two years, what it’s been like to build Dwolla in Des Moines and what is still ahead for the company, which raised a Series A round of $1 million in late 2010. He doesn’t give away Thursday’s big announcement, though he does hint at it.
Please give it a watch and let us know what you think – this is our first episode and we’re looking for feedback. Also, we’d love to know, who would you like to see on Newsmakers?
Newsmakers is the type of high-quality and in-depth coverage we’ll be publishing in the coming year, and we owe it to our sponsors for making it possible. If you’d like to be a part of this new way of reaching entrepreneurs, investors, creatives and other stakeholders in the startup community, please contact me at email@example.com.
