PrairieCast: In lieu of a live show, we look back at year two of the podcast

PrairieCast is off this week for the holiday break, but on behalf of co-host Andy Brudtkuhl, producer Jon Thompson and everyone on the Silicon Prairie News team, we’d like to thank you for a great year of the show.

We launched PrairieCast as an audio-only podcast in early 2010 and did 19 episodes throughout the year. This year made a lot of changes, committing to a weekly schedule and moving to live video. We overcame a hurdle or two during the year, not the least of which was moving studios/platforms two times, and I’m happy to say that our audience stuck with us and continues to grow.

BECOME A SPONSOR

My highlights of the year include welcoming our first sponsor, Delta Dental of Iowa, to the show, our conversations with David Graff of Hudl and Scott Case of Startup America Partnership (two of our highest viewed episodes), and that one episode last winter that was always cancelled due to blizzard conditions in Des Moines (thanks to Jordan Lampe and Nathan T. Wright for stepping in last minute!).

In all, we had 55 guests join us in 2011 over the course of 48 episodes. It was a good year.

There is more in store for PrairieCast in 2012, and we’re excited to share it with you. We’ve been steadily upgrading the technology in our studio and look forward to bringing you more discussion on the best topics in technology and entrepreneurship each week here in Des Moines and around the Silicon Prairie.

If you missed last week’s show, check it out here: “PrairieCast with Nathan T. Wright and Jordan Lampe (Video)“.

While you’re at it, why not give us a “like” on the PrairieCast facebook page at facebook.com/prairiecast.
