Planning for Startup Nebraska, a future statewide “region” of the Startup America Partnership, is underway.

The goal of the Startup America Partnership is to encourage high growth entrepreneurship in the United States. In order to effectuate this goal, Startup America is aiming to help regional, state and local ecosystems organize its own ecosystem construction efforts. Earlier this month, Iowa became the first state in the Silicon Prairie region and the eighth state nationally to launch a statewide effortStartupIowa.

In Nebraska, Silicon Prairie News has been in discussions with Nebraska Global‘s Tom Chapman, to coordinate conversations which would culminate in a Startup Nebraska launch event in late January.

Prior to this launch, there will be multiple planning meetings to help construct the initiative, mainly Nebraska’s strategic and execution plan and the planning of the launch event itself.

In Omaha on Wednesday, interested parties are invited to join strategic planning sessions at the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce‘s west office (13206 Grover St.) at 3 p.m. A special thanks to Dusty Reynolds of the Omaha Chamber for helping to coordinate this meeting.

In Lincoln on Thursday, interest parties are invited to participate at 3 p.m. in the space occupied by Jacht Club inside of Nebraska Global’s office (151 N. 8th St.).

We will look to these and additional meetings to coordinate all of those who are interested in helping to make Startup Nebraska a reality by the end of January.

Also, to accomplish its national effort, the Startup America Partnership has built an extensive list of partners, resources and means for companies, individuals and ecosystems to leverage national scale for local construction. Part of its offering is a bundle of resources, called the “Startup America Growth Kit.” Both Nebraska Global and Silicon Prairie News have signed up for the Growth Kit and the Silicon Prairie region has undertaken a challenge by the Startup America Partnership’s CEO to sign up more startups than California.
