The Omaha Jaycees has announced this year’s Ten Outstanding Young Omahans. It’s inspiring to see the collective work of the winners reflected in the way our city is changing.
Similar to the way that we at Silicon Prairie News are working to change the culture and landscape as it relates to entrepreneurship and innovation in the community, each of this year’s winners are pushing forward ideas and initiatives to not only change Omaha for the time we are here, but more importantly, for Omahans to come after us.
Please congratulate each of the following individuals for the work they are doing to lead the charge on improving the greater Omaha community.
- Jennifer Bartelt, co-owner of Reclaim Your Space
- Matthew Curtis, teacher and basketball coach at Omaha South High School
- Grayson Derrick, partner at Baird Holm law firm
- Dell Gines, community development adviser for the Omaha office of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City
- Amy Haase, urban planner with RDG Planning & Design
- Beth Katz, executive director and founder of Project Interfaith
- Brigitte McQueen, founder of the Union for Contemorary Art
- Heath Mello, Nebraska State Senator for the 5th District
- Jeremy Nordquist, Nebraska State Senator for the 7th District
- Ryan Wade, Assistant Vice President of business banking at Union Bank & Trust
Again, congratulations to each of the ten winners for their time, energy and dedication towards making our city an even better place to call home. The Omaha Jaycees are hosting a celebration for this year’s TOYO recipients on Wednesday. Visit omahajaycees.org for more details and registration.
