The inaugural Midwest Entrepreneurship Conference (MWEC), an event that aims to provide attendees with actionable items for growing businesses, will take place Friday and Saturday at the University of Nebraska at Omaha‘s Mammel Hall (6708 Pine St.).

Things technically kick off on Thursday night, when conference-goers are invited to attend the monthly meeting of Cornstalks at the Mastercraft Building and head to DJ’s Dugout for a social event afterward.

The schedule for Friday and Saturday features a full slate of entrepreneurial speakers – including SPN’s own Dusty Davidson – a pitch competition and a post-conference social event Saturday night.

Nebraska-Omaha’s Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO), the local chapter of a nationwide organization, is putting on the event. CEO’s mission is to guide, support and inspire college students to be entrepreneurial and seek opportunity through enterprise creation. The MWEC website provides more about the conference and its mission:

Our primary goal with MWEC 2012 is to leave you with actionable items that can help launch your idea or grow your business in as fast as possible time frame. Although you’ll hear from great speakers, the common theme will be less talk and more action!

Tickets for MWEC cost $95 and can be purchased on the event’s registration page. For more information, visit mwecomaha.org.
