SXSnippets: Dwolla’s Lampe learns the allure of ‘lasers, wine and geeks’

1:15 a.m. – Walk in late, drenched with rain, to Gary Vaynerchuck’s Secret Wine Party from Matthew Rosenberg’s Fast Society/Cameo house party. Lasers, wine and geeks make for an amazingly awesome combination. | 9:30 a.m. – Christina Aguilera apparently looks …

Jordan Lampe of Dwolla wrote this post about his experience Sunday at South By Southwest Interactive in Austin, Texas. For more about Lampe and SXSnippets, see the note following this post.

In 24 hours at South By Southwest, Jordan Lampe enjoyed Gary Vaynerchuk’s Secret Wine Party (left), sat in on a panel on community led by Shane Reiser (middle) and mingled at the Driskill (right).

1:15 a.m. – Walk in late, drenched with rain, to Gary Vaynerchuck’s Secret Wine Party (top left) from Matthew Rosenberg‘s Fast Society/Cameo house party. Lasers, wine and geeks make for an amazingly awesome combination.

9:30 a.m. – Christina Aguilera (below) apparently looks like how 99 percent of SXSW-goers probably feel at this moment. Me? Surprisingly chipper.

11:00 a.m. – Hit up Ben’s panel on whether or not there’s another Internet bubble with Alexia Tsotsis, Peter Pham, Ethan Kurzweil and Sharam Mercer-Fouladgar. So is there a bubble? General consensus is that there may be a bubble, but it’s limited to certain industries, like social and photo sharing (*cough* Instagram valuation *cough*).

12:30 p.m. – Arrive at SPN’s Cereal Bar at the Halcyon for some Fruity Pebbles and an interview with The Economist (where we chatted about the future of money and society’s new found interest with Nazi science fiction movies).

3:30 p.m. – Head over to Shane Reiser, Mark Davis, Nick Seguin and Paige Craig’s panel on building startup ecosystems (top middle). As Christian Renaud would say, “If a bomb were to go off in this room, it’d set back the community 10 years.”

7:45 p.m. – Go to hit up the All Things D VIP party, but get sucked into The Driskill (historical hotel bar and SXSW hotspot) as soon as we saw the Kohort team (above right). Come to the conclusion: the most valuable moments at SXSW happen at events where there are no “VIPs,” Eventbrite RSVPs or jerks.

11:00 p.m. – Meet a new friend outside the Foursquare party. For the sake of Irony, I decide not to check-in…
