The official “city badge” for the five winners of foursquare‘s #VisitUS contest debuted this afternoon and for Des Moines that means a new global look at the Iowa State Fair’s famous butter cow.

Des Moines entry to the contest was spearheaded by students in Chris Snider‘s Social Media Strategies class at Drake University who beat our hundreds of entries to get one of the five spots.

To earn the Des Moines badge, a user needs to check in at five venues from the official Des Moines list.

For more, see our previous coverage of the contest and a recent PrairieCast episode where Snider discussed the project.
