Students, join us tonight for our Startup Job Crawl and follow all the Job Crawl action on Twitter #SPNCrawl
From 5-8:30 tonight, the Silicon Prairie News Startup Job Crawl will take its second loop down Silicon Sixth, the heart of the startup community in downtown Des Moines, starting at StartupCity Des Moines (317 6th Ave., 5th floor). Nearly 120 students have already signed up to meet more than 25 internet startups, web development shops and design firms from the Des Moines area.
Thanks to our sponsor
Because more than 20 of the participating startups have internships, part-time gigs and full-time positions available, this event is more than a networking experience or simply a forum to discover what it takes to work for a startup. It’s a viable place for the job and internship hunt for any undergraduate and graduate students as well as recent graduates of one year or less.
It’s not too late! Register for the free Startup Job Crawl
If you’re headed to the Job Crawl, be prepared to make your best first impression. Whether that means putting on your vintage T-shirt and jeans or a Kim Kardashian blazer and khakis, anything in that range is appropriate. We also suggest polishing up your résumé and bringing along your business cards. Sixty percent of attendees in the first Des Moines Job Crawl made at least 10-15 connections, so make sure you’ll have enough of each.
The #SPNCrawl Schedule
Students will be assigned a group and a stellar guide to help them throughout the night. The event will begin with a shotgun start at StartupCity Des Moines and move along to the Midland Building and Liberty Building. Crawlers can look to the tour guides to lead them through each building, keep time and answer any questions.
Participants will progress through the night according to the following schedule:
5 p.m. – Welcome
5:20 – 6:20 – Session 1
6:30 – 7:20 – Session 2
7:30 – 8:30 – Session 3
