When the co-founder of Turntable.fm jumped on stage on May 10 at Big Omaha 2012, he treated the room to the first listen of a track he’d never spun before.

“I really want to put it out here and be vulnerable,” Seth Goldstein said. “The strengths that I find most important in entrepreneurs are not just confidence and aggressiveness and focus; it’s also vulnerability and authenticity and, importantly, emotional intelligence.”

So, over the course of 40-plus minutes, Goldstein opened up to the audience, whittling his 20 years in tech startups down to 10 aphorisms of 140 characters or less — “10 tweets for startups.”

“Even over the course of today and kind of leading up to this I was inspired to look back and really try to come up with some hard lessons that I’ve learned,” Goldstein said.

In the video above, the seventh in the Big Omaha 2012 Video Series presented by Microsoft BizSpark, Goldstein shares those lessons and fields questions from the audience.
