More than 100 people turned out for the last Startup Weekend Des Moines, held in February at StartupCity.  

Iowa’s capital city will host its second Startup Weekend of 2012 Nov. 16-18.

Startup Weekend Des Moines, a weekend-long education in launching a high-growth business, will take place once again at StartupCity Des Moines (317 6th Ave.).

During the event, teams devote a weekend to building the foundation of a business. It begins Friday evening with participants coming together and delivering minute-long pitches of ideas for startups. Attendees then spend Saturday and Sunday working in teams to deliver on a handful of those initial ideas. Teams pitch their businesses on Sunday night to a panel of judges.

The event will also include a talk from Jeremie Miller, the Cascade, Iowa-based founder of Singly and a speaker at Thinc Iowa 2012

Early-bird tickets to Startup Weekend Des Moines cost $50 are available for purchase online through Friday. Normal tickets are $75 and are also available onine.
