The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation will host its second Startup@Kauffman Demo Day on Nov. 12, and startups from the Kansas City area are invited to submit applications through Sunday to participate in the pitch session.

Held in conjunction with Global Entrepreneurship Week, which runs Nov. 12-18, Demo Day will provide startups an opportunity to present to an audience of advisors, mentors, partners and peers. The event will begin at 9 a.m. on Nov. 12 at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center.

About 10 startups from the Kansas City area will be chosen through the application process to present at the event. They will be joined by a group of Silicon Prairie startups from outside the Kansas City area and a handful of the Kansas City companies that presented at the inaugural Startup@Kauffman event in June during One Week KC. In total, founders from about 25 startups will have the chance to share their businesses’ successes and needs.

Kansas City entrepreneurs can apply online through 11:59 p.m. Sunday. Those selected to present will be notified Nov. 2.

“We are thrilled to host another Startup@Kauffman event after seeing the tremendous response that our initial demo day generated in June,” Cameron Cushman, manager of entrepreneurship at the Kauffman Foundation, said in a release. “This event will be even bigger and better — with more entrepreneurs presenting, an exhibit hall component and an outstanding lunchtime speaker. It’s an ideal way to kick off GEW-KC and advance Kansas City’s efforts to be America’s most entrepreneurial city.”
