Banno founder and CEO Wade Arnold has lured in a 25-year financial technology industry veteran to join his team as president. The Cedar Falls, Iowa company today announced the addition of Charles Potts, who comes to Banno after serving as a managing director at ProfitStars, a division of Jack Henry & Associates recently in the news for entering into a partnership with Arnold’s company.

“Having Charles join our team is a privilege, and we have high expectations for his ability to substantially contribute to Banno’s growth and further our role as a major innovator in the industry,” Arnold said today in a company press release.

Potts’ role at Banno will be to drive the corporate and business development activities, which will help free up Arnold’s role to lead the development and delivery of the company’s vision and tech innovations that have brought it to where it is today, a company representative said.

Banno’s relationship with Potts (right) began in 2010 when he became the company’s “go-to informal advisor concerning the financial services industry,” Arnold said today in an email to Silicon Prairie News.

“Charles pushed me personally to go to Finovate and move faster around our real-time data-enrichment technology,” Arnold said.

“I have been very fortunate to see (Banno’s) evolution from the outside, and now will be able to contribute my past experience to growing our partner and customer business,” Potts said today in a company press release.

Potts, who begins his role Feb. 1, won’t be moving to Iowa, however. He and his family will remain in Atlanta, his current city of residence, for the foreseeable future, a company representative said.
