Coders 4 Charities is set to host its sixth annual event March 22-24 as a way to utilize local tech talent to give back to area nonprofits.

The event pairs web developers and designers with representatives from local nonprofits to fully revamp the organizations’ websites and create a more effective online presence in just two days time.

“It will be like a fishbowl for us for 48 hours, but that’s a great way to let the community know what good can come when you pair highly-knowledgeable ‘geeks’ with the organizations who desperately need their talents,” coordinator Doug Butscher said on the event’s website.

Among the 10 participating charities this year are Telos Orphan Care, Literacy Kansas City and Camp Encouragement.

The event, which takes place at Cerner Corporation’s Riverport Campus in Kansas City, Mo., is free and open to the public. For more information and registration visit coders4charities.org.
