EntreFest!, an annual small business and entrepreneurship conference hosted by University of Northern Iowa‘s MyEntre.Net, takes place in Cedar Rapids, Iowa this Thursday and Friday. With new breakout sessions such as the Lean Startup Methodology and Business Model Generation, the event aims to attract founders of high-growth startups in addition to those behind small businesses.
StartupCity Des Moines‘ Christian Renaud is set to deliver the Thursday morning opening keynote, “Building in Iowa.” NRG Media CEO and president Mary Quass and RAYGUN founder and CEO Mike Draper are the event’s two other featured keynote speakers, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, respectively.
Our own Geoff Wood is also among the speaker slate, joining representatives of the Entrepreneurial Development Center, the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center at the University of Iowa and the Iowa City Area Development Group on a panel titled “Startup Communities: Success Stories.”
The event, which is in its sixth year, is put on by a host of service provides throughout Iowa, including the University of Northern Iowa Regional Business Center, Iowa Area Development Group and the Technology Association of Iowa. Seed Here Studio‘s Andy Stoll is the event coordinator.
