Startup Weekend lands in Kansas City for its seventh round April 12-14.

Two-hundred cities around the world host the weekend-long entrepreneurial workshops designed to create working companies, and the format remains the same in Kansas City: ideas are pitched then voted on, teams are formed around skill sets, and presentations are made in front of a panel of judges to determine the winner.

A new wrinkle this go-around is a partnership with CoFoundersLab, which is dedicated to helping entrepreneurs find cofounders. Participants can register at its site to search and connect with others before the event.

The Weekend starts at 6 p.m. Friday and ends Sunday at 9 p.m. Tickets are $60, or $50 for student participants. Register at the Eventbrite site.

Wazoo won the most recent Kansas City Startup Weekend last November, and the team has continued to work on the project. Its initial focus was providing a better experience for zoo visitors, but has shifted to educational and interactive tools for children’s museums and discovery centers. Backly, an outlet for startups to build relationships directly with their supporters as a brand, also launched at the November event.

Update: We previously posted the event would take place at Kauffman Foundation. A location and sponsor has not yet been determined, but we will provide that update as soon as it is announced.
