Participants brainstorm ideas on Friday night at the first Startup Weekend Ames.
The first Startup Weekend Ames is underway with seven teams working to make an idea a reality in just a weekend.
On Friday evening the 51 people registered for the event pitched ideas and formed teams at the CPMI Events Center in Ames. Throughout the weekend, these teams work to solidify business plans and build the necessary technology before they must pitch their final products to a panel of judges at 5 p.m. on Sunday. The event is open to the public, and a live stream of the pitches will be provided.
