The fifth-annual Big Omaha event kicks off tonight with the Opening Party (8 p.m. at The Slowdown). The party once again is presented by the event’s lead sponsor, The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. On behalf of the entire Silicon Prairie News organization, we can’t thank Kauffman enough. They’ve been the lead sponsor for seven of the eight events in the Big Series (all but the original Big Omaha) and they support our work year-round as members of the Silicon Prairie community.

In addition to sponsoring tonight’s Opening Party, Diana Kander, one of Kauffman’s senior fellows, will take the Big Omaha stage Friday morning at 10:40 a.m. The Foundation will be well represented at KANEKO, with several members of the team taking part. Please look for their name badges on the red carpet and give them your thanks for their support, too.

The Kauffman Foundation is proud to sponsor Big Omaha. Like Big Des Moines and Big Kansas City, this event is focused on entrepreneurship and innovation, and it is intended to inspire and motivate its attendees and create lasting relationships within the region.

We’re very excited you’re here. To make the most of your experience, consider what you’re passionate about and how you can influence others. Meet and share with those around you at every opportunity. This is meant to be an interactive experience – engage and build!

The Kauffman Foundation, based in Kansas City, Mo., is among the largest foundations in the United States with a mission to foster a society of economically independent individuals who are engaged citizens, continuing the improvement of their communities. For more information, visit Kauffman.org, follow the Foundation on Twitter and Like the Foundation on Facebook.
