In March, we wrote about nonprofit Connecting for Good‘s mission to bridge the digital divide in Kansas City. It was in the process of fundraising to secure a grant from One Economy Corporation and to bring free WiFi to the Juniper Gardens low-income housing project in Kansas City, Kan. President Michael Liimatta today announced fundraising for the $40,000 project ended successfully, including donations through crowdfunding site Neighbor.ly. Efforts now are focused on getting volunteer trainers to teach digital life skills to residents and getting refurbished laptops available for families to purchase for $50. — Source: Connecting for Good
