Take a peek at the five Big Omaha parties, May 8-10

Big Omaha inspires giant ideas, and this year we’re adding a simple and expressive design twist to those ideas by incorporating high fashion. It’s a design theme we can’t wait to display in the experimental elements at  our fesitivites that take place next week and one that will help make Big Omaha 2013 the most fabulous conference on innovation and entrepreneurship. We invite you to join the party fun.

Your ultimate style guide to all the fabulous festivities

We’re sticking with tradition for our opening party, holding it at The Slowdown for the fifth year in a row.

The Opening Party with the Kauffman Foundation – 8 p.m. May, 8

The Slowdown (729 N 14th St.)

Thanks to our friends at Omaha Fashion Week, we’re putting on a Big Omaha fashion show and it just so happens to be during our Opening Party with the Kauffman Foundation. Designers selected for this year’s Fall Fashion Week will give our audience a sampling of their style while our party-goers have a chance to style their own startup tees. Make sure to pack an extra startup T-shirt for our Style Your Startup Tee contest.

Big Omaha badge holders can pick up their official conference badge and What Cheer‘s Spun Interactive code at the party. Registration is open from 8-10 p.m., and if for some reason you’re unable to make it to the party, registration opens at 8 a.m. the next day at KANEKO, the main Big Omaha venue.

This party is open to the public and free to all Big Omaha badge holders. Non-badge holders can RSVP to skip the $5 cover charge.

Right in the heart of the Old Market, Omaha’s newest craft cocktail room will host our Middle Party.

The Middle Party – 8 p.m. Thursday, May 9 (closed to badge holders)

The Berry & Rye (1105 Howard St.)

Offically opening its doors for the first time for our Big Omaha crowd, The Berry & Rye, the newest craft cocktail venue in town will play host to our Middle Party. During the event, enjoy the company of your fellow Big Omaha attendees while experimenting with one of their in-house contemporary concoctions and experiencing mural artist Gerard Pefung perform a live art installation.

As an added perk to this party, because you’re fabulous, spa services courtesy of Sirens Salon at the Loft Day Spa will compliment the evenings festivities. From a mini massage to a brush-up mannicure, we’re adding an extra element of luxury to this party that’s exclusive only to badge holders.

Regroup and reset yourself for the second full day of Big Omaha, practice yoga with us before the show.

Big Yogaha – 8:30 a.m. Friday, May 10 (closed to badge holders)

KANEKO (1111 Jones St.)

To jump start our Friday morning, we’re adding a new element to the lineup to keep our focus and center our concentration. Refresh your mind and body for the day to come and practice with Lotus House of Yoga and members the Big Omaha community. Make sure to pack your yoga clothes and we’ll provide the mat. This additional activity is free and open to all badge holders.

Thanks to MarketWired, we’re preparing for our most extreme Happy Hour yet.

Happy Hour – 4:05 p.m. Friday, May 10 (closed to badge holders)

Urban Wine (1037 Jones St.)

Our Happy Hour presented by MarketWired will be like nothing you’ve seen at our past events. It takes the high pace and intensity of the runway, kickflipping it on its head and adding a half pipe. With a post-conference skateboard demo curated by SecretPenguin with pro skateboarders from Untitled Skateboards, we’re in for an extreme start to the close of our conference activities. Kick back, grab a beer and send a big thank you to our friends at MarketWired for taking this party to another level.

2012 Speaker Mena Trott and Big Omaha MC Antonio Neves pose in the Hudl Closing Party photobooth.

The Hudl Closing Party  – 9 p.m. Friday, May 10

House of Loom (1012 S 10th St.)

We’ve learned that the only way to properly close down a Big Omaha conference happens with the Hudl crew, and what better way to do that than with our second annual Hudl Closing Party. If your heart’s set on dancing to the beat of our DJ’s drum, a wide open dance floor will be ready and waiting for you. But, if busting a move is not quite your style, don’t worry. We’re making plenty of room to take those closing convesations outside where we have patio space (and quiet space) to network. We’re happy to team up with Hudl for this closing shindig and we’ll consider this a preview of what’s to come at Big Omaha 2014.

This party is open to the public and free to all Big Omaha badge holders. Non-badge holders can RSVP to skip the five dollar cover charge.

It’s not too late!

Thanks to KANEKO’s expansion this year, we still have seats available. General admission tickets are $599 and special entrepreneur/startup discounted tickets are $399.
