Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) has filed an amendment to the immigration bill currently heating up the Senate floor in an attempt to make the U.S. more attractive to foreign entrepreneurs. It would supplement a measure that creates visas for them to stay and expand their businesses. Moran’s amendment adds flexibility to the entrepreneur visas by accomodating the typical growing pains startups experience. Features of the bill include: founder requirement to create jobs for U.S. citizens to qualify for new visas, lowered investment and revenue thresholds, family members of entrepreneurs can invest in their startups, and a business plan requirement would be stripped. The first vote on the bill is set for Monday. — Source: The Hill
