This morning the MIT Technology Review revealed its prestigious annual list of “35 Innovators Under 35.” This year, that group included Dwolla founder and CEO Ben Milne

Milne, who was honored as an outstanding entrepreneur, will be featured online and in print. The Des Moines-based startup’s founder also will appear on the cover of the magazine’s September/October issue.

“While Dwolla’s payment engine represents nearly 60 years of technological advancement in payments, it’s how we consciously designed the system to navigate, collaborate and create new opportunities within the existing U.S. financial system and its current stakeholders,” Milne said in a press release.

Past winners of the award include Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, chief Apple designer Jonathan Ive and Tumblr creator David Karp.

“We’re proud of our selections and the variety of achievements they celebrate, and we’re proud to add Ben to this prestigious list,” said the magazine’s publisher and editor-in-chief Jason Pontin in a press release.
