Since 2004, Big Blue Window, an ecommerce retailer for window grilles, has been a project of John Jackovin and his long-time business partner, Tom Love. That is, until recently when the pair sold the company to focus their efforts fully on Bawte, another company Jackovin and Love co-founded.

While Jackovin didn’t do too much of the day-to-day work with Big Blue Window, he believes its sale will allow him to give Bawte—an app that helps consumers keep track of warranties and manuals for the products they own—the extra attention it needs as the team completes a redirecting of its efforts. Jackovin wasn’t able to disclose any specifics regarding the company’s sale, other than to say that it was a fiscal move that made sense for the partners.

Bawte officially launched in May 2012 and by June, Jackovin was working on it full-time. The sale of Big Blue Window comes at a time when Jackovin (right) says Bawte is working on refocusing its services.

Originally the team envisioned its audience to be facilitated through manufacturers; however, recently Jackovin says the company has decided to take out the middle man and go directly to the consumer. In the coming months Bawte will release a redesigned platform and experience to reflect its new focus on the product’s consumer.

Not knowing how to order a replacement grid for our windows we called to get information. Our window is 65.25 x 5 6 feet. We wanted the grid to come 10.50 from the top of the window. We were looking at pictures as we gave the information to the lady. We wanted inserts with a bottom bar to connect to the bottom of the 10.5 vertical pieces we thought we were ordering a built grid to put on the window. We received 16 – 10.5 cut off molding sticks . This would cost us $10.00 at home depot to get the same molding and we would cut it 10.5 . We were mislead . We wanted a completed grid. Taking to the women on the phone was horrible. She said we ordered the wrong thing…..I thought wow ! We talked her through the picture we saw on the internet and gave her the size of the two windows and told her 10.5 from the top. What else would we expect her to think ? She said it was custom ordered and could not refund. I said it was done wrong and you put the information down wrong. We were expecting at least a horizontal bar to attach to the 10.5 pieces she sent us at the appropriate width of the window. We said grid . Then to top it off $36.00 freight. It weighed 2 lbs. She was rude and kept saying we ordered wrong. I’m so angry about the way she talked to us and the audacity to charge us that much for 13 pieces of wood. My husband has a skill saw we would of done it our self. I know the lady that took the call is reading this . I want her to send this to the owner and I want a reply. I can look up the company information and get the owner if she refuses to give this to them. I want my money back immediately. She did not take the order right and we were totally clear on what we wanted
