Entrepreneurs will gather at StartupCity Des Moines Nov. 15 to 17 for the city’s sixth Startup Weekend.
With the fourth-annual Global Startup Battle just around the corner, two Silicon Prairie communities—Des Moines and Kansas City—have announced Startup Weekends to be held from Nov. 15 to 17.
Entrepreneurs from more than 200 Startup Weekends around the world will compete in the Global Startup Battle, an online, bracket-style competition for winning Startup Weekend teams. Last year teams from Des Moines and Kansas City competed with 135 other Startup Weekend winners from around the globe for a chance at thousands of dollars worth of prizes.

Kicking off with an opening pitch session Friday night, Startup Weekend participants will form teams, work to build a prototype and create a presentation to pitch their ideas on Sunday evening to a panel of judges.
