The Kansas City Startup Village welcomes reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.

Last week reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian made his way through the Silicon Prairie—stopping first in Lincoln, then heading south to Kansas City to speak at Compute Midwest.

But this is by no means the first time Ohanian has visited the Prairie. Last fall the Internet 2012 Bus Tour made four stops across the Silicon Prairie—in Lincoln, Des Moines, Iowa City and Kansas City. Then in March the reddit co-founder visited KC as a speaker at SPN’s inaugural Big Kansas City.

Ohanian will return to Iowa for a similar book tour stop at the University of Iowa on February 21, 2014. For a complete schedule of appearances, visit the tour’s website. Until then, take a look at snapshots from Ohanian’s time in the Silicon Prairie:

Lincoln

On Wednesday, Oct. 23, Ohanian stopped in Lincoln as part of his 150-stop, five-month tour to promote his book, Without Their Permission. While in Nebraska, Ohanian participated in a conversation with Hudl co-founder John Wirtz and spoke at the Unviersity of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Raikes School.

“Afterward I was able to catch up with Alexis at Barrymore’s in Lincoln where a handful of people showed up to hang out with the co-founder of reddit,” SPN’s Caleb Ulffers said. “Drinks were had, selfies were taken and even Analog showed up for the fun.”

Early in the day Ohanian spoke to more than eight companies, including members from FUSE Coworking, opendorse and Social Assurance

Even Analog made an appearance and snapped a photo with Ohanian after his talk at UNL’s Raikes School.

Kansas City

On Friday, Oct. 25, Ohanian was one of a handful of speakers at Compute Midwest, an annual area conference. While in Kansas City, Ohanian toured the Kansas City Startup Village and met with some of its local entrepreneurial residents.
