At the end of September, teams of high school and college students paired with mentors to solve real-world technology problems faced by local businesses at the first MECA Innovation Challenge—based on the KC Chamber’s goal for Kansas City to become the Most Entrepreneurial City in America.

This Sunday from 4–7 p.m., everyone’s welcome to attend a screening of the competition—captured by student videographers—at the Alamo Drafthouse in downtown Kansas City. The event’s participants, mentors and businesses will all be there to celebrate the inaugural event, and videos of each team’s journey will be made available to participants as a free digital portfolio—put together by local startup Foliomatch. The event was run by Kansas City Startup Village, and organizer Eze Redwood will share his thoughts on the results in an upcoming guest post.

Update: Organizer Adam Arredondo said the screening has been delayed due to audio issues. Details to come.
