Over the past decade, Kevin Rose has had a career marked with accomplishments that shaped the internet experience of many. Now, not only his ideas, but investment in the ideas of others have made an immeasurable impact on the tech industry.

In 2004, Kevin founded the social news website, Digg. What began as an experiment soon skyrocketed to one of the Internet’s most popular sites, becoming the 21st most visited, according to web trafficking company, Alexa. The site that allowed users to share and then vote content up or down would soon inspire similar services like Reddit.

Following his time dedicated to Digg, Kevin would co-found internet television network Revision3, micro-blogging site Pownce and the mobile development lab Milk.

A longtime angel investor, Kevin has an incredibly impressive track record, funding companies such as Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, about.me, Zynga and Square. The ability to recognize winning companies contributes to his current position as general partner at Google Ventures in addition to serving on the board of the Tony Hawk Foundation.

Kevin Rose’s success has not been overlooked, as he’s been named one of the Top 35 Innovators in the World under age 35 by the MIT Technology Review, a Bloomberg Top 25 Angel Investor and one of Forbes’ Top 25 Web Celebrities. Additionally, both TIME and BusinessWeek have given him the honor of one of the Top 25 most influential people on the web, a list that includes fellow Big Omaha speaker Evan Williams and others like Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and Apple’s Steve Jobs.

This past year, Kevin married his wife, Darya. Author of “Foodist,” creator of the website Summer Tomato and a Ph.D in neuroscience, it’s easy to see why Kevin and Darya were recently named one of the 10 most powerful couples in tech by Mashable.

Silicon Prairie News invites you to join Kevin, Darya and the other 12 powerful speakers at Big Omaha from May 7-9 at KANEKO. Reserve your spot today by grabbing your ticket at BigOmaha.com.
