Organizers announced Wednesday that, in an effort to foster entrepreneurship in Iowa, a statewide Dream Big Grow Here pitch-off will be held May 15 in conjunction with EntreFEST. Iowa Lt. Governor Kim Reynolds will emcee the event, which will feature software-developer-turned-pig-farmer Carl Blake. Prior to Dream Big Grow Here, there will be a public street festival from 4-6 p.m. on the Iowa City Ped Mall. The seventh-annual EntreFEST—it bills itself as “Iowa’s largest conference, celebration and resource hub for entrepreneurs and the people who support them”—is May 14-16 in Iowa City, Iowa. Tickets for EntreFEST cost $149 and anyone interested in attending can register online. — Source: EntreFEST
