Anyone interested in brushing up on their programming skills through the University of Iowa JPEC‘s Dev/Iowa Bootcamp should act fast—applications close May 2.

Following a successful first session this spring, the University decided to continue the immersive learning environment for a second session. The Dev/Iowa Bootcamp reports a 70 percent hire rate within two weeks of graduation from the spring program. While U of Iowa students were unable to apply for the first session of the program, the summer schedule allows for students of all ages to apply without the conflict of school work or course load.

The progam is designed to turn students into professional web developers through 50 hours of training per week over the course of nine weeks, running from June 2 to Aug. 1. Cost for the nine-week course is $5,000, but tuition assistance is available.

Students enrolled in the program can expect to learn tools like HTML, CSS, JavaScript programming and the importance of agile development. Interested applicants will be asked to answer several short essay questions and complete an interview with the program’s instructors.

Interested in attending? Apply online by May 2 to be part of the University of Iowa’s Dev/Iowa Bootcamp.
