CityCampKC, the “unconference” for the civic-minded with panels, discussions and rapid-fire talks is back for a third year May 31.
The unconference, which doesn’t have a set schedule or speaker list, runs in conjunction with the National Day of Civic Hacking. The day brings together citizens, software developers and entrepreneurs to collaboratively create, build and invent new solutions using public data, code and technology to improve communities and the governments that serve them.
The open format offers attendees the opportunity to network, learn and share what they are most passionate about in Kansas City. The schedule will be created on the spot during breakfast.
Unconferences invite participants to share their perspectives, and attendees help determine the agenda the day of the event. Doing it this way strengthens community bonds and allows spontaneous ideas to bubble up, the website states.
