Big HappyBig Kansas City and Steve Case’s Rise of the Rest will join forces Thursday, October 9, giving the community and its business leaders an unforgettable afternoon. After a fireside chat with the AOL co-founder, a group of pre-selected startups will have the opportunity to pitch their company to Case for a $100,000 investment.

Directly following that pitch, KCnext and KCADC, in partnership with Rise of the Rest, will host a happy hour at 5 p.m. at The Guild to showcase KC’s creatives and culture.

The Big Happy will feature food from Patrick Ryan’s Port Fonda and cocktails created by world-renowned bartender and Manifesto founder Ryan Maybee. Further, Hint brainchild Teri Rogers and music by the duo Victor & Penny will create an atmosphere leading up to Steve Case’s announcement of the Rise of the Rest pitch competition winner at 6:30 p.m.

Interact up close and personal with the creative people putting Kansas City on the map and see the check presentation right before the Big Kansas City Middle Party, just a few blocks away at The Bauer.
