Meet the 2015 Designer of the Year finalists
Amy Colgan, Lemonly
Amy Colgan is the Co-Founder/Creative Director of Lemonly, a design firm based in Sioux Falls, SD, whose mission is to create understanding through visuals. Founded in 2011, Lemonly specializes in telling stories through infographics, videos and interactive microsites with brands across industries including Marriott, Salesforce, Major League Baseball, Netflix, LEGO, The GRAMMY Awards and the United Nations.
Dan Rohr, Dewsly/SquareOffs
Dan’s passion is finding problems and crafting simple yet beautiful experiences in all shapes and sizes. His wheelhouse is a hybrid of UX, motion, visual design and branding. After spending the last few years working on projects for Google, Nike and Flipboard at INSTRUMENT in Portland, Dan has settled back down in the Midwest. He just accepted the position of Creative Director for the KC startup Dewsly as well as being a creative advisor to another local startup, SquareOffs.
Levi Nelson, Travefy
Levi arrived at Travefy one year ago and hit the ground running, helping the team reshape the app based on user feedback. His breadth of skills from user research to visual design to front-end development have helped Travefy grow its user base more than 350%. He also was instrumental in overhauling the app’s expense tool (leading to a 6x increase in sales) and designing the company’s newly-released mobile apps.
Stephanie Jarrett, Bulu Box
Stephanie is Bulu Box’s maestro and musician of design: orchestrating the creative team in her role as CMO to create and execute beautiful, responsive and strategic design elements. Stephanie laid the foundation for Bulu Box’s lively brand but few realize that she continues to design daily while creating the user interface for BuluInsights.com solo. From NYC to San Francisco designing for brands like Visa, NFL and LeapFrog Stephanie’s expertise has landed Bulu Box multiple nominations and awards for the like of the American Marketing Association’s “Marketer of the Year Award,” AIGA’s “The Show” and many others.
Justin Kemerling, Justin Kemerling Design Co.
Independent designer working alongside many interesting startups and nonprofits. Branding, graphic design, web, and posters. Justin lives in Omaha and strives to help build something inspiring, beautiful, and unique out here in the middle of America.
